Professional Drummer with a fervent devotion to music, a sterling reputation, fierce talent and a dream. A compelling musician with a contagious sound and inimitable style.
My name is Heather, and I’ve been playing the drums professionally for over 10 years. I enjoy teaching percussion to others through private lessons or through School of Rock where I currently work. But my true passion is performing. I gig locally and nationally, seizing every opportunity to showcase my love for music in front of an audience. I currently play with several bands including Karaoke Live, It Takes Two and Serendipity. My ultimate aspiration is to play for a group or a company where I can do what I love every day, entertain. When I’m not performing or teaching drums, I spend my time nurturing my many passions which include painting, bass guitar, piano, ukulele, and running.
Among my accolades, I had the privilege of winning the John Belushi Jazz Scholarship from the College of Dupage in 2011, you can read the article below. I have also starred in a commercial, playing the drums, the link to which is below, as well as links to some recordings. I won the Geneva Drum Competition in 2008 and 2009 and have been recognized as a top performer within my trade. As a woman, I am thriving in a primarily male-concentrated arena, as a result of my perseverance, work ethic and commitment to my
craft.
I would be an asset to any company or group and have ambitions to make drumming my life’s work. My drive comes from my definitive love for music, my authentic heart and the fortitude to achieve greatness.
